Nov & Dec 2012 ALS A&E Test Results

After the last day of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Accreditation & Equivalency (A&E) exams on 16 December 2012, this year's takers are now wondering whether they pass or not. However, the real agony is not the result per se but WHEN it will be released. Last year's ALS A&E result was released more than 5 months because of the delay in the bidding process. I do hope that the passers of the 2012 examinees be released before the normal high school or college registration.

Watch on this page the results of the 2012 ALS A&E Results.

Dahilan Sa Pagkakaantala ng 2012 ALS A&E Exams

ALS A & E Test in October 2012

PRESS RELEASE

DepEd opens registration for placement test

The Department of Education is opening the door for out of school children and youth to go back to formal school or land a job by offering the 2012 Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT).

“Our modest contribution to nation-building is to give our youth a fighting chance to succeed in life through the placement test,” said Education Secretary Br. Armin A. Luistro FSC.

The test result will determine the grade or year level appropriate for the test taker. PEPT covers all grade/year level from  Grade 1 to Fourth Year high school so that takers can have a chance to move to the next grade or year level  or even complete basic education in just one examination. “That is possible if they are doing home schooling or if they have acquired enough knowledge and life skills,” Luistro explained.

The exam covers the regular DepEd curriculum which are English, Math, Science and   HEKASI for elementary and Araling Panlipunan for high school. They could also be given a certificate of rating attesting that they are qualified to go to high school or college depending on the score they obtain.

Interested parties may register at DepEd’s division offices nationwide from March 5 to May 25, 2012. The documentary requirements are Form 137/138, birth certificate and two 1 x 1 pictures. The division testing coordinators are directed to submit the actual number of registrants to DepEd’s National Educational Testing and Research Center (NETRC).

“We want the test takers to upgrade their academic level so that when they pass, they can re-enter the formal school system, land a job or even get a job promotion,” added Luistro.

PEPT registrants are encouraged to avail of learning modules prepared by the Bureau of Alternative Learning Systems, the Bureau of Elementary Education and the Bureau of Secondary Education or any other learning resources available in DepEd’s regional or division offices. They can use these learning modules to review before the exam or even after as part of their continuing education.

The exam will be administered for free on June 12, 2012, as part of DepEd‘s celebration of the country’s 114th Independence Day.

--o0o--
ALS exams seems very subjective...why place the multiple choice part of the exmas if it will still be the essay part w/c will be the determining factor for examinees to pass? why not just place just all the essays then? at least there will be no hard feelings towards those who did not pass because they failed to pass the essay...

not all people are really fond or good with essay writing. why should this part of the exam will carry the most weight in determining whether or not should an examine pass the exam?

couldnt the deped make a better matrix for the exams? I really believe this is a really lame type of examinations. For those that are not blessed w/ academic intelligence but are blessed w/ either technical or artistic intelligence wouldnt have an iota chance of passing then...

Correct Usage of English Words - 2

Below are some English words that are often used incorrectly:

Beside Versus Besides

Beside means next to while besides means in addition to.

Practice Test:
1. Five boys (beside, besides) Johnny went to the gym.

2. Clarita sits (beside, besides) me in my physics class.
3. (Beside, Besides) physical injury, the suspect was also charged with trespassing.
4. Will you please stand (beside, besides) my son while he is singing?
5. Professor Dela Cruz teaches Philosophy (beside, besides) Anthropology.

Few Versus Less

Few is used only with countable nouns while less is used with noncountable nouns.

Practice Test:
1. Marge spends (few, less) time on her garden.
2. My mother bought (few, less) pencils.
3. (Few, Less) sugar is added to the rice cake.

4. Always put (few, less) salt to your cooking.

Oct 2011 ALS Passers Versus K-12 Program

It has been announced by the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) that beginning school year 2012-2013, the implementation of Kindergarten to Year 12 or K-12 Program. In this regards, many passers of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Accreditation and Equivalency Exams (A and E) exams given last October 2011 are wondering whether they have to take the additional 2 years (Year 11 and Year 12) of high school. As I understand it, those who passed the Secondary Level do not have to take the additional 2 years of high school. This is because those who graduated from the normal high school scheme this year can go straight to college. Since the ALS passers also got their diplomas this year, they have the same privilege as the normal high school graduates.

What I do not know right now is whether those who will take the ALS A and E exams this year shall have the same privilege as last year's passers. Is the diploma they will get next year correspond only to fourth year high school (junior high school)? If so, do they have to take another exam for the Year 11 and Year 12 (senior high school)? If not, what will be the coverage of the exams this year? These questions will be the dilemma the 2012 ALS takers will face. Does the Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS) has been advised by DepEd with regard to the implementation of K-12 Program and its corresponding impact on the mechanics of this year ALS exams?

DepEd, particularly BALS should address the above concerns before the next ALS A and E tests to be given in October or November 2012.

Advice To Those Who Failed in the Oct 2011 ALS A&E Exams

For those who did not see their names on the list of passers of the ALS A and E Tests given last October 2011, be positive and don't lose hope. There are things that you should you do to make sure that you really did not pass the test.

1. Check your name thoroughly in the list. Check it both in the Elementary and Secondary Level.
2. Check your middle name. Maybe they posted your Middle Name instead of your Surname.
3. Verify with DepEd if you see your First and Surname correct but not your Middle Name.
4. If you feel that passed the test but your name was not on the list, you can inquire about your test results with the DepEd.
5. After all the above has been done, re-enroll in the program and pay attention to the subject matters of which you failed.     As I mentioned here, even though you got a perfect score in the multiple choice but your essay/sanaysay was full of errors, you will get a FAIL mark.
6. Visit this site for reviewers and sample tests.

Comments on the Late Release of ALS A&E Oct 2011 Test Results

The late release of the October 2011 Alternative Learning System (ALS) Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) test by the Department of Education draws a lot of reactions from those who took the examinations. Here are some of these comments:

--o0o--

Please be informed that the list of passers for the 2011 ALS A&E Test
will be released on the first week of May to be posted at the DepED
website.

In this connection, kindly refer to the following message from the
Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS) regarding your concerns,
for your information and reference:

The reason why it was moved to May is due to the delay of the bidding
process. Bids & Awards Committee contracted to Service Providers to do
the checking of the multiple choice and essay.
But DepED BALS is working to fast track the checking. Perhaps, last week
of April will be the release of the results of A&E Exam.
BALS is working for the immediate release but you have to understand the
situation we are encountering at the moment.

Very truly yours,
BALS Mgnt.

eveRy body,, bE patiEnt,, sana maintindihan nyu ren,, na hindi ganung kadale mag check ng mga test paper at mag basa ng essay,, dahil sa dame ng mga nag take ng exam,,, and of course wag muna tayong mag expect na makakapasa tayo,, ang kailangan lang nting gawin mag antay kung kelan talaga marerelease ang exam,,, pero sana lahat makapasa, dahil alam kong isa rin to sa mga goal natin :)

We understand the situation with regards to the delay in the posting of the ALS October 2011 examination results, our heartfelt support to the individuals charged with this massive task, but, we are expecting more from our educators and the people charged with coming up with the examination results, we are supposed to be the next generation of leaders of this country, it is our responsibility to continually push the boundaries of what is possible, and i believe that we can come up with the results if only proper planning and management of the checking of examinations was laid and implemented.
Up to what level of sanity will we tolerate the inefficient conduct of this activity?

Why is it that it's only in this date that the "bidder" chosen to correct the exams is selected? What are they doing with the papers since October? Didn't they know that academic years in the Philippines start on June and that there are lots of requirements, such as entrance exams, that are only held or available prior to April or May ? And didn't they know that what they are doing will only prejudice those who took the exam by not knowing what course of action they will take rather than help them finish their studies? With this I'm really at pity our country's system

Its better to say the truth earlier, at least hindi kami umasa ng sobra sobra at di kayo nakakrecieve ng ganitong mga comments.
WE EXPECT THE RESULT ON EITHER LAST WEEK OF APRIL OR 1ST WEEK OF MAY!!

--o0o--

patirnce, patience, patience for us..

--o0o--

Last year the result had been published on February 23. At this year they say the result will be publish by the last week of February. But what is happening now?? We are on the mid of March.. There's a lot of examiners are waiting for them to enroll in college. And some to use the Diploma for applying a job like me. So to the head of the Department of Education please we are all loosing our patience. So please post the result as soon as possible. We all understand that its hard for you to rush the checking of our essays but we hope that you also understand our situation that we need the result/Diploma etc. So please we hope we can have any response from the Department of Education. Please tell us when we can really have the result.

--o0o--

--o0o--

--o0o--

d naman kailangang mg mura dto db,,, sna mging civilized person nmn tyo... d b ntn pwedeng intindihin ang deped tao lng ang nag chcheck ng inyong mga essay kya sna hbaan ntn pasensha ntn ok... lht tyo nag iintay buong pilipinas ang nag exam sna alam nio un,,,

--o0o--

No GUYS! It's not because of the number of test taker but it's because of the sluggish processing of the bidding! (Nagbibid pa sila para sa magchecheck ng papers 'coz they're looking for the cheapest bidder.) To those who are planning to go to COLLEGE, APRIL is kinda late for taking the COLLEGE ENTRANCE TESTS or that month is the time for the INTERVIEWS! Like me, I'm going to have an interview in UP and FEU ('coz I was qualified for the scholarship, I'm not being boastful , just saying!) but because of the delayed results, what am I going to say to the panel of interviewers??? "Syempre, if the RESULTS are not yet there, I'm not QUALIFIED yet to enter college!I'm going to make a twitition on twitter so if you're an ALS LEARNER whose waiting for the results, BETTER sign this twitition! http://twitition.com/hjsoe/

--o0o--

--o0o--

I've been here for almost every 2 days.. I think the results will really come on 1st week of april or last week of march.. anyway, gudluck for everybody.. we couldn't do anything but to WAIT be PATIENT..
It's going to be just the right time.. Results this april.. opening of classes is june.. so no rush..

--o0o--

--o0o--

he long delayed posting of the results clearly shows how inept our agencies are in handling this. There's no sense of urgency even though quite a lot are waiting for the results because they want to continue their studies. It seems like waiting for an eternity and the people in the agencies concerned just DONT REALLY CARE!!!
--o0o--

It has been 4 months now and you people in charge should all be ashamed for sleeping on your jobs. This is one of the reasons why we are not moving forward because we just dont care.

--o0o--

I hope time will come that you people will get to experience how it is to wait for something very important to you and yet regardless how many times you check you'll just keep on waiting.

--o0o--

SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE IN CHARGE OF THIS ALS RESULTS DELAY.

--o0o--

--o0o--

I just finished calling the BALS(Bureau of Alternative Learning System) and I asked about the A&E Exam results last October 2011 and they say that "kakatapos lang ng bidding and kakukuha lang ng nanalong bidder/checker sa mga test papers and binigyan sila ng 2 months kaya mga JUNE pa lalabas ang results"! How foolish!? They are not thinking that MOST OF the passers are going to enroll for college! We should make a petition! Who owns a twitter account? We should tweet the higher gov. officials! (BE ACTIVE SO WE CAN STAND FOR OUR RIGHTS TO STUDY!)

--o0o--

Salamat Po!

--o0o--

ayos nga yun ee kahit ' GUD LOCK' concern siya sa mga kumuha ng exam siguro kung may GOOD MANNERS AND RIGHT CONDUCT bagsak ka na masama yung mapanlait sa kapwa.. hindi pinagpapala tao lang yon may karapatan magkamali..

--o0o--

TAG ULAN NUNG MAG EXAM KAMI,LUMIPAS NA YUNG TAG LAMIG,SUMMER NA TAYO NGAYON WALA PA AKONG NAKIKITANG PALATANDAAN KUNG KAILAN LALABAS YUNG RESULTA!!! ate pang'Z
